They won't ban someone if it is clear they bought stuff in good faith.

Correction: They possibly and probably will but you will have a good chance of fighting the ban if it happens.

They won't ban random people here either. Unless said person bought several stacks of items known to be duped.

To be more precise: if you bought a few non-obviously duped items you'll be fine. If you traded in them heavily you are much more likely to eat the ban hammer, because it becomes difficult to distinguish you from a shill account the duper is using to conceal the transactions.

I think that the same account having 8 ded pandas came out on another website. IIRC it was the same character name "Caya Is Imba" in the screenshot, which no longer works at all (probably due to deletion of the character by the player).

Com'on, that's not what I meant...
They have multiple instruments to investigate, and chat logs review is one of them.
Off course they can't just tell by just reading through chat logs alone, as much as they won't simply ban people on a whim for purchasing duped items.

A particularly vile thought just occurred to me. Anyone else notice the daily, cyclical fluctuations in ecto prices in between the last two birthday events?
Well, we don't know how long this dupe has been in existence, but there's no reason to believe it hasn't been around for a long, long time. And you know what would be the best way to launder duped, customized ectos?
Set up your machine to dupe overnight while you sleep. Come back in the morning and tell it to sell them all to the trader. Come back home at the end of the day and tell the machine to buy the ectos back from the trader. Then have the machine dupe overnight while you sleep. Rinse, repeat.
There's no telling how deep this particular rabbit hole goes.

There's virtually no way of knowing if a dedicated pet is legit or not. Anet had plenty of time to take action if they wanted to. Banning an honest trader for acquiring a miniature at a good price or stealing/deleting his items would be too low... even for NCsoft and Anet who are the lowest of the low when it comes to customer care/community relations. We shouldn't pay for their negligence so if they wanted the supposedly 'duped' items removed they had plenty of time to investigate/act which apparently they did not. Another option though also unfair but bearable would be deleting the supposedly 'duped' item and restoring the buyers' orginal credit/ cash/ arms/ ectos/ items after banning the alleged 'duper'.

I guess there are many ways anet could act. They Ban Duper And buyer, if both made ridicoulous profit with duped items. They remove duped items if they were bought regardless of being obviously duped. They WONT remove if it wasnt sure that duped and trade price was okay. Limited Items may be handled with other methods, but idc, i WONT buy any of em the next time. Guess all is summed up now , we answered Dimmus question and we can stop repeating same answers and questions.
Sincerely , Craven.

No, they are customized, but to decustomize em u have to dedicate them. Was The old hom method, so a Ded pet doesnt mean duped Pet.

How do you know it was duped in that case Coast? It could haev been from a legitimate 7th Birthday present (Zhed has been confirmed to drop from them if Im not mistaken).
Was the minature customized but not dedicated, or just a regular minipet without any mention of customization or dedication?

Thanks for the infos Coast... damn.
So in other words there really is no way to see which items are duped and which are legit any more . And I was hoping it would stay with the wierd "Customized to XXX" on duped items... but apparently it is not so. I hope Anet can once again sort out this mess and bann the players who were actively duping. It just sucks big time for the players who bought the duped items in good faith if the items are removed later.

Well since someone else with less vested interest already leaked it I figured I would clear up a few things. I originally said materials and the like were being created this was true, however other things were being created in fact there are now more than 1 complete set of the everlasting henchmen tonics.
I also want to point out minipets were created in fact a decent bit of them. A good example of this is Fereos was traded 5 pandas for his legit kanaxi. I bring this up as we are going to talk about how to wash dirty money.
Everything was spawned customized I mean everything, however if you spawned a birthday present and opened it you got a non customized item. So lets take a step further the minipets were customized but you could fix this by dedicating them to HoM. I think you can see where I am going with this why do you think Ferreos got 5 ded pandas.
I think david moonbow may feel some pain from this as well as his EL tonics are no longer unique among other higher end traders. It will hurt the price of minis/tonics in the long run that is for sure.
So to Dimmuborgir Satan if you want one of these items for your collection buy a panda off of Ferreos I just wouldn't pay too much as it is a counterfeit.

i would like to see the duped el hench tonic first since i still have a set of mine i would have to see it to believe it sorry, and me and ward have been hunting down el henchies for sometime now and the current active owners are not selling for any price so highly doubt it till i see two el henchman tonics of the same kind

Wouldn't they have to get their hands on your EL Hench tonic in order to dupe it? If they can't dupe your hench tonic then yours will still be unique one of a kind and I don't see that affecting the price of it, even if the other hench tonics are duped.
